Scanlon Auto Group has officially given away its 30th home in Fort Myers, Florida with the help of the Habitat for Humanity nonprofit organization of Lee and Hendry county. Scanlon Auto Group has been a proud sponsor of the Habitat for Humanity organization for many years through its donations and its company-wide Habitat Build Day, where employees of the Auto Group donate an entire day to build a Habitat home.
Scanlon Auto‘s most recent recipients of a Habitat home were Gregory and Kortney (as seen in photos). Before purchasing the Habitat home near Cape Coral, Florida, they struggled with finding affordable housing in the SWFL area. After months of taking homeowner classes and saving money by living with family members, they were able to purchase a Habitat house that was made affordable through donations made by Scanlon Auto Group! Scanlon is a proud sponsor of numerous nonprofit organizations throughout Lee County.
Habitat homes are built through donations of money and materials from organizations like Scanlon Auto Group and the use of volunteer labor. The homes are then sold to low-income families (like Gregory and Kourtney) and provide an interest-free mortgage and monthly payments set at less than 30 percent of the homeowner’s income. Through determination, hard work and “sweat equity“, Gregory and Kourtney were able to have an affordable place to call home. Scanlon Auto Group is proud to have given away its 30th home and looks forward to giving away many more.
